The following description comes from the event organizer.
Patricia Rovzar Gallery announces an intriguing body of abstract paintings that came out of a collaboration between two of our gallery artists. San Francisco Bay Area painters, Suzy Barnard and Suzie Buchholz, work on the water's edge on opposite sides of the bay. Both painters are palpably influenced by the marine environment, and while their work is profoundly different, they have found a deep creative connection. Barnard witnesses international commerce every day, as container ships and tankers pass by her studio window in their slow and steady processions, coming and going from faraway places. Buchholz' studio looks out over marinas that house and cater to pleasure craft. Her view is punctuated by the rhythmic staccato of sailboats' tall masts and small fishing boats that troll the waters in search of the best location to make their daily catch.
