The following description comes from the event organizer.
The Alpine Camp (LA) and Moose Almighty (Seattle) bring the jams to the High Dive on Wednesday February 2nd for a deliciously groovy night of mid week music. The Alpine Camp is a California rock band described as Jam-mericana: a mix of jamband, country funk, roots rock, and jamgrass. The band is comprised of bass, drums, guitar, piano, pedal steel and banjo. The Alpine Camp could hang with the bluegrass crowd if it wasn’t for the drummer. You could also expect Gram Parsons to waltz through the door since they can chicken pick with the best. But, at its core, the group is an Americana Roots Rock outfit with pop sensibilities. Their live shows showcase the band’s improvisational prowess and run the gambit from ethereal soundscapes to balls to the wall shredding all framed within the context of the great American songbook. Since forming in 2014 they have performed at Earth Jam, the California Oysterfest, OC Music Fest and shared the stage with Atlas Genius, The Brothers Comatose, Midnight North, The Motet and Ghost Light amongst many others.
Moose Almighty is an indie rock jam band from Seattle, WA. Their modern approach to a retro sound blends seventies hard rock with swampy funk, blues, synth freakouts and dynamic improvisation, reminiscent of a hazy, acid tinged Saturday night in a southern dive bar. Moose Almighty’s third studio album 'Spare Parts’ was named the independent album of the year by Mic1Park Music Media who said “All self-produced, self-engineered - and all things between - this album is 10 out of 10 across the board. If you’re not careful, you can easily have this playing in the background and not even remember if you put on Moose Almighty or Grateful Dead.”
