When STG's University District theater first opened on November 16, 1921 as a cinema, the Seattle Times called it the “newest photoplay palace and the finest suburban theatre in this part of the country.” Now, 100 years later, you know it as the newly renovated venue where big-name rap and rock acts from across the country have played for the last 10 years. Celebrate this history at this free community celebration that will include a video presentation, drinks and snacks, and the "honoring of an art installation by indigenous artist Joseph H. (wahalatsu?) Seymour signifying the acknowledgement of the land once inhabited where the Neptune Theatre stands."
