The following description comes from the event organizer.

Magnuson Park Gallery, a division of the Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange, is pleased to present Through The Looking Glass Darkly: Portraits in Black and Brown, by Bonnie Hopper. The exhibition opens on September 15th, 2022, and will be on view through October 22, 2022.

Hopper’s large-scale portraits come to life through her use of oil paint and collage, creating a dialogue between the intricate depictions of African Textiles, the tradition of “Sunday Best” dressing, and the Antebellum South.

There will be an artist reception on Saturday, September 24th from 2-5 pm in the gallery, located at 7448 63rd Ave NE, Seattle WA 98125
