The following description comes from the event organizer.

2022 is the 50th Anniversary of the 1972 release of the Rolling Stones record “Exile on Main Street.” The Royal Room is excited to host two shows paying tribute to this classic.

Much has been written about this album and the storied recording sessions that took place while the group was in tax exile in France in 1971- and for good reason. Some consider this the Stones’ best album, if not the greatest rock album of all time.  In the “Exile on Main Street” edition of the 33 1/3 book series, author Bill Janovitz writes: “While Exile contains some undeniable classic song-writing and a genuine hit or two, much of the record seems filled with happy accidents and inspired spontaneity.”

The album has  something for almost everyone, with the opening song “Rocks Off” one of the hardest-rocking songs on the record. We can hear: Pre-punk–“Rip This Joint”; Blues–“Stop Breaking Down”;  Gospel influenced–“Shine A light; Country–“Sweet Virginia”; Pop–“Tumbling Dice”; Caribbean flavored folk ode to Angela Davis–“Sweet Black Angel.” Plus the Keith Richards classic hit,”Happy”.

Led by Seattle musician/instructor Bill Molloy, a group of stellar local musicians re-create this album for us, complete with a well seasoned horn section.

Featuring:
Bill Molloy- vocals/guitar
Kate Molloy-piano
Clare Molloy-vocals
Doug Schoolcraft- guitar
Darren Loucas-guitar
Hans Teuber-sax
Steve Moore-trombone/B3
Dave Carter-trumpet
Eric Eagles-Drums
Jeremy Lightfoot-Bass
