The following description comes from the event organizer.
The Open House offers a free and family-friendly day of hands-on learning to celebrate science and research that relates to water! K-12 visitors and their families will be able to play a virtual reality game about sustainable fishing, take a tour of the Research Vessel Rachel Carson, and see live aquatic animals, among many other exciting activities. For high school visitors, there will also be an advising booth (before 1:00 PM only) to learn more about studying aquatic sciences at UW. In-person translation will be available in Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Somali, and American Sign Language.
