WITS Year End Reading and Celebration: Work from Young Writers Around the Puget Sound Region
The following description comes from the event organizer.
WITS (Writers in the Schools), a program of Seattle Arts & Lectures, has been working with public K-12 schools throughout the Puget Sound region, bringing professional published poets, prose and comics writers to classrooms for extended creative writing residencies that help students become authors of their own lives. The WITS program culminates each year in a program-wide reading and celebration of student work that includes students from approximately 30 schools throughout the Puget Sound Region and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
To wrap up the 2021/22 WITS residencies, WITS students read from their work over two nights. Elementary and middle school students read on Wednesday, May 25, and middle and high school students read on Thursday, May 26.
