Founded in 1993, Bauhaus used to be located in the historic Melrose building at the corner of Melrose and Pine in Capitol Hill. You may already know the story, and maybe even shed a few tears yourself, but we'll recount it anyway for the sake of memory. Due to new development in the neighborhood block, Bauhaus closed in 2013, after a twenty-year run full of strong coffee, good literature and community. It's not a complete sob story though--today, Bauhaus lives on in Ballard, at the corner of Market Street and 20th Ave. Stop by to get some work done or to meet new coffee friends--this is a neighborhood shop, no matter which neighborhood it's located in.
