The coffee shop Bauhaus, which opened in 1993 and was a much-adored neighborhood fixture in Green Lake, Ballard, and Capitol Hill until its untimely demise in 2015, is set to re-open a location in the former space of Capitol Hill's recently closed Down Pour Coffee by the end of September 2019. (The Ballard shop re-opened in 2016, and was the only remaining location...until now.) The new, smaller space will retain some of the cozy, lived-in charm of the original, with books, espresso and coffee, and pastries from local La Toscanella Bakery, but will also add some new features, like beer, wine, and a bottle shop.
