For 10 years, Sabine Ruthensteiner owned Contour downtown. Now she runs this Eastern European cafe that serves open-faced sandwich canapes—"They're much prettier! In Europe, we don't have closed-up sandwiches," she says—as well as crepes, soups (people like the borscht), salads, schnitzel, and more, using largely organic and local foodstuffs. Live music includes new age flamenco (!), and the art's kinda weird, but the place is dark and sleek, and the staff is really nice.
