Deep Sea Sugar and Salt owner Charlie Dunmire first ran her cake shop out of an Airstream trailer in Georgetown's Trailer Park mall. Now, she has her own brick-and-mortar store in the former space of the historic Carleton Avenue Grocery, which closed in November 2017. The shop features pantry staples, wine, beer, fresh flowers, drip coffee, Sweet Lo's Ice Cream, and of course...cake, in fanciful flavors like London Fog, pistachio lemon, and brown butter banana graham.
