Named for the '60s French singer, scoundrel, and womanizer Serge Gainsbourg, this laid-back bar serves French small plates at good prices. Among the selections on the menu: a croque monsieur with ham, Gruyere, and béchamel; poisson and frites; and the "Gainsbourger" (beef and lamb patty on a baguette with Gruyere, caramelized onions, and Dijon). Slog hero Fnarf says, "I love Gainsbourg. They play weird French music. I like weird French music. Get the house wine—whatever they’ve got going that night is good."
