Slow Boat Tavern
Opened in late 2015, Hillman Cityβs Slow Boat Tavern feels like itβs been there forever. The bar is lined with leather stools, peanut shells adorn the floor, and pinball machines reside upstairs. A small but idiosyncratic selection of beers, mostly local brews and Belgian ales, is on tap. Hand-painted letters on the window declare the Slow Boat the βHome of the Old Man Provost,β both a nod to owner Ken Provost and his signature drink involving Rainier beer and espresso shots.
