The Independent Pizzeria’s pies are slightly thicker than Neapolitan style, holding up to more cheese and high-quality toppings (Mama Lil’s peppers, Fra’ Mani Italian sausage), and quite good, with big, beautiful, blackened bubbles along the edge. Service can be a little lackadaisical, but the pizza comes to the table bubbling hot, even if the chef has to bring it out himself. The Independent is pretty great.
