This Friday, February 12, marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Ox, which is said to usher in career advancement, success in business, prosperity, and wellness for all. Ba Bar Like List and Monsoon Like List
From February 8-14, Seattle's stylish Vietnamese mini-chain Ba Bar and its sibling restaurant Monsoon will celebrate with bánh tét (a traditional rolled sticky rice cake) filled with pork belly and mung beans. Ba Bar will also be offering a combo with Wagyu pho and Chè trôi nước (glutinous rice dumplings in a sweet ginger syrup, also known as "happiness dumplings").

BB6 (BaBaLio) Past Event Like List
The Taiwanese pop-up's Year of the Ox spread is all sold out, but assorted á la carte dishes, including soy-braised pork feet, cucumber salad, red yeast pork belly, "Buddha jumps the wall" soup (bamboo, taro, shiitake, bamboo fungus, clams, Chinese ham, chicken thigh, and chicken and pork broth), sesame braised mushrooms with longevity noodles, and red bean nian gao (sweet red bean sticky rice cakes with jujubes and preserved egg yolk salt) are available for purchase through the website. The pop-up is also selling limited-edition Year of the Ox glass bottles from Republic of Cider Like List , which come with a 50% discount on the cider of your choice when you bring them in to get filled. Chateau Ste. Michelle Like List
The Woodinville winery is featuring dumplings (pork and chive, beef and onion, and pork and shrimp) paired with Chateau Ste. Michelle and Eroica wines at its tasting room, with pineapple cake for dessert. They're also selling Lunar New Year gift sets of wine bottles with red boxes and gold ribbons, and for fun, there's a 2021 zodiac calendar that suggests wines based on your Chinese zodiac sign.

Lucky Envelope Like List
Cofounders Raymond Kwan and Barry Chan named their Ballard craft brewery Lucky Envelope for the colorful red envelopes traditionally stuffed with money and given out on Chinese New Year to bring good fortune. So it only makes sense that it's the perfect place to usher in the Year of the Ox. As they've made a welcome habit of doing, they'll release some new beers Past Event Like List for the holiday, including a Coffee-Vanilla rendition of their Double Happiness Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter, as well as the tea-infused Metal Ox Juicy IPA, which will be available in cans. Other new brews include Li Hing Mui Pineapple Sour and Mijiaya Historic Chinese Beer, which is inspired by the starch and grains found in brewing vessels at the 5,000 year-old Mijiaya archaeological site in Shaanxi, Northern China. Onsite seating and takeout will both be available.

Plenty of Clouds Like List
This Capitol Hill restaurant inspired by the flavors of the Sichuan and Yunnan provinces is teaming up with the booking platform Resy and the website LUCKYRICE to serve a Chinese New Year menu for two, with Sichuan pork dumplings, spring rolls, lion's head meatballs, pea shoots, house-made longevity noodles, wild mushroom sticky rice, red braised pork short ribs with mustard greens, and nian gao (rice cakes). Add on beverages like the "Red Lantern" (hibiscus, lapsang souchong, lime, and soda), the "Ruby Slipper" (pomegranate gin, campari, and galangal), and sparkling gamay rosé from Domaine Lingot Martin. Ten percent of all proceeds will go to support local businesses in Seattle's Chinatown-International District.
