Leslie King-Hammond, a Jacob Lawrence scholar and founding director of the Center for Race and Culture at the Maryland Institute College of Art, will lead this panel discussion with Jason Turner (a Northwest African American Museum educator and tour guide), Gwen Whiting (the lead exhibitions curator of the Washington State History Museum), and Beth Turner (author of Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle). They'll be focusing on Seattle's history of Black leaders, from Jacob Lawrence to Black pioneer George Bush.
