"Emily Counts and Ko Kirk Yamahira’s works are tactile and material-focused, reflecting the artists’ methodical approaches to art-making. The linked and stacked ceramic pieces, and the draping of canvas threads explore physical connections of objects and their movement. Yamahira’s elegant minimalism of his deconstructed and reconfigured canvases is contrasted and complemented by Counts’ evocative symbolism of her colorful, patterned ceramics." (Promo Copy)
