"The works for this two-person exhibition focus on American landscape, rich colors and fantastic interpretations of light, each with a distinct and unique vision of their subject. Mark Beck’s “The Light That Shines” showcases the landscape through the lens and backdrop of our time in seclusion. The simple house structures are emblems for our lives; at first glance, some of these small abodes may seem uninhabitable, but there are simultaneously signs of life and the enormous healing power of the ocean and sky. Kellie Talbot’s practice requires that she spend thousands of miles on the road collecting reference material at every spot along the way. Having visited over 30 states, this new collection of paintings titled “Road Work” is the compilation of the many signs, typography, and other emblems of society that have inspired her."
