"The migration of millions of Black families out of the South during the first half of the twentieth century fundamentally changed the nature of American politics, especially for the Democratic Party. What are the lasting effects of that migration, and what impact is the return of large numbers of Black Americans to the South having on politics today? Keneshia Grant (Howard University) will discuss the Great Migration, and its relevance today.
