Nielsen’s Pastries, in business since 1965, makes traditional Danish treats. They’re most famous for their “potatoes”—a pastry puff filled with custard and whipped cream, covered with a layer of marzipan, and dipped in Dutch cocoa powder. They don’t look pretty, but that’s a good thing—you don’t want anyone else to eat them. Also, if you buy an espresso drink weekdays between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., you get a free pastry.
