Olympia Pinball Museum Grand Opening Past Event List
In this day and age of Pokémon Go, Fortnite, and countless other mobile games taking the world by storm, it's fitting that the comparatively quaint pleasures of old-school pinball machines have been relegated to a museum in Washington's state capitol. The grand opening event will not only give visitors a chance to check out the games of a bygone era, but they'll be able to play them, too. Try doing that at any other museum.

Since its release, Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon has achieved the sort of iconic status few albums ever achieve and morphed into something far beyond a mere record. As such, it's no surprise that Dark Side of the Moon lends itself well to reinterpretation, as is the case with the Black Jacket Symphony's recreation of the album in its entirety. It's a live Pink Floyd performance like you've never heard before.

McMenamins History Pub: Boys in the Boat - A Daughter Remembers Past Event List
Daniel James Brown's non-fiction novel The Boys in the Boat will be the subject of this evening talk that explores the working-class boys from the Pacific Northwest who shocked the world by becoming the U.S. men's eight-man rowing team at the 1936 Olympic games. The talk includes stories from Judy Willman, the daughter of Joe Rantz, one of those working-class fellas who made rowing history.

Drink up to support Planned Parenthood. The Mule Tavern presents Nasty Woman VI: Ladies' Night, an evening during which 10 percent of all bar sales will be donated to the local Planned Parenthood chapter. The previous year raised over $1,200, so the bar (no pun intended) is pretty high. There'll also be live entertainment and a raffle with prizes from local businesses.

Gabriel Rutledge Comedy Night Live Past Event List
In a recent interview, Central Comedy Show's Henry Stoddard and Isaac Novak singled out Gabriel Rutledge as perhaps the Seattle area's funniest comic—a view reinforced by Rutledge winning the Seattle International Comedy Competition and his frequent major TV appearances. Working in the familiar territory of family life and its countless frustrations and sorrows, Rutledge finds many quirky angles from which to squeeze distinctive humor out of everyday situations. His bit about parents desperately trying to snatch a couple of spare minutes to have sex might ring all too true for many. Happiness Isn't Funny is the title of his book and the guiding principle behind his unerring humor. It's the hilarious story of a couple of low-level grifters competing to scam an heiress out of $50,000, and the result is one of the funniest examples of larceny there is.
