Oscar season is officially in full swing now that the 92nd Academy Award nominations have been announced. And although the Academy has once again courted controversy by failing to nominate a single woman in the best director category, there are nevertheless quite a few legitimate surprises—like Joker racking up a staggering 11 nominations—among this year's contenders.
