If you've got cabin fever from being cooped up in your home for too long, but the weather isn't exactly conducive to dining al fresco, take refuge in one of the many cozy covered and heated patios dotting the city. EastBurn List
You can lounge on a swing seat on this pub's covered and heated back patio—need we say more? The menu features elevated comfort food like crab mac and cheese, "trinity fries" (a trio of russets, sweet potatoes, and fried leeks), and the "Uber Sandwich" (house-smoked pork tenderloin and a potato pancake with scallion sour cream, caramelized onions, and bourbon-apple chutney on a toasted potato bun).

Portland Mercury food critic Andrea Damewood called the Thai barbecue spot with tropical cocktails "the restaurant equivalent of Lizzo: infectious, critically and commercially acclaimed, and addictive AF," writing, "You cannot go wrong in ordering, from the hot fried cauliflower to the divine brisket in white curry to the fried rice with burnt ends. And both the cocktails and mocktails are some of the best in town—my favorite piña colada, made with coffee and salt to keep it from being too cloying, is on the menu again." In 2020, the restaurant added a vibrant "vacation cabana"-inspired area for outdoor dining.

Thomas and Mariah Pisha-Duffly's acclaimed Indonesian-Chinese spot boasts a homey, colorful covered patio space with a tropical vibe, complete with bright geometric-patterned rugs, string lights, plants, and heaters.

G-Love List
The self-proclaimed "reverse steakhouse" (which serves an abundance of veggie-based dishes supplemented by a handful of animal protein dishes) happens to have a covered patio with heaters, so you can enjoy its inventive fare, like the popular ensalata bomba and crusty avocado, all year round.

Hinterland Bar and Food Carts List
This cart pod and cocktail bar hosts local favorites Burger Stevens and Matt's BBQ Tacos List , as well as the carts Third Culture Kitchen List , The Thai Panther List , and Hunker Down List , along with plentiful heated and covered outdoor seating. Take refuge from the weather at this Malaysian Chinese hot spot's back patio "hideaway," which is outfitted with heaters and dangling lights. Don't miss the crispy roti canai and the popping boba jello shots.

Phuket Cafe List
In a playful twist on the typical patio, this vibrant Thai spot from chef and restaurateur Akkapong “Earl” Ninsom (the man behind Eem, Hat Yai, and Langbaan) and his business partner Eric Nelson offers a converted train car as a charming outdoor seating option for guests. The menu is just as innovative and fun as you'd expect, with steaks, pork chops, oysters, paella, ceviche, smoked trout, peanut brittle, cheese-stuffed roti, carrot coladas, cucumber relish Collins, Thai tea Irish coffees, ume plum old fashioneds, and more.
Nob Hill

Produce Row Café List
The craft beer pioneer and Central Eastside staple is known for its extensive selection of brews, as well as its roomy patio with plenty of picnic tables.

Radio Room List
The remodeled former gas station offers plenty of patio dining with heaters and fireplaces. Don't miss the popular happy hour from 3-6 pm daily, which features deals on cocktails like the "Rose Bird" (apple-spiced bourbon, lemon, grenadine, and cherry), plus discounted food specials like fries and aioli, fried Brussels sprouts, pork belly tacos, and fried chicken sandwiches.
King

The Rambler List
Kick back with some craft beer, cocktails, and pub grub at this cozy bungalow-style tavern, which has a sprawling covered patio and fire pits. You can even play bocce ball and lawn games.
Mississippi

Rontoms List
This longtime Eastside favorite's roomy patio has been known as one of the best in Portland for years. It's decked out with heat lamps and outdoor fireplaces for maximum coziness and even hosts free music performances every Sunday night at 8 pm.

Tiny Bubble Room List
The casual craft beer taphouse has picnic tables under a large tent in addition to private pods in shipping containers. EverOut managing editor Janey Wong calls the "Tantalus Royale" cocktail, made with Combier Pamplemousse, lemon, and orange bitters, an "effervescent delight."

Tropicale List
With a convivial party atmosphere, cheerful decor, and festive lighting, the Latin American cocktail bar and kitchen provide an ideal ambiance for sipping one of their famous piña coladas served in a hollowed-out pineapple.

Dine on comfort food like smash burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, and the "Schnitzelwich" on this friendly neighborhood spot's covered and heated back patio.
Humboldt

The Vern List
The beloved neighborhood dive and self-proclaimed "belle of Belmont" converted its parking lot into a fenced and covered patio, with gas-powered tabletop firepits for chilly nights. The pub grub-based menu includes tots, crab beignets, sweet potato jojos, smoked wings, burgers, and brisket sandwiches.
