Stabs List
Aron Moxley, the former lead singer of the band the Slants, opened a Vietnamese-influenced barbecue restaurant called Stabs at Bar Carlo List last Saturday, November 7. Moxley, a longtime restaurant industry veteran, discovered a love of barbecue while on tour in Austin eight years ago and fuses that with his affinity for Vietnamese street food. The menu includes banh mi loaded with smoked meats like brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, smoked tofu, and other specials, all served with a side of house-made kimchi and black rice. There's also handmade sesame-peanut noodles and cocktails with smoked ice cubes, with pho (made with smoked bone marrow) coming later. Picnic tables are available for outdoor seating, with kung fu and samurai flicks projected in the alley.
