If the season's increasingly chilly weather has you shivering and craving comfort food, you're in luck: This week brings a smorgasbord of hearty options, including house-cured pastrami at the new Jewish deli Jacob & Sons, brisket tacos at the newly opened Matt's BBQ Tacos location inside Great Notion Brewing, and lovingly handmade pasta at the Italian spot Pastificio d’Oro. This highly anticipated Jewish deli is now open for takeout and delivery only in the former KitchenCru List catering and commissary space. The spot serves specialties such as pastrami, corned beef, knishes, babkas, challah, Reuben sandwiches, deli salads, matzo ball soup, and pickles.

Matt's BBQ Tacos List
Now you can get your brisket breakfast tacos and hazy IPAs in one convenient location: Matt's BBQ Tacos, the smash-hit spinoff of Matt Vicedomini’s wildly popular barbecue cart Matt's BBQ, moved into the Northeast Portland location of Great Notion Brewing List on November 2. The location serves all the favorites the business has become known for, including various smoked meat tacos, migas tacos, beef fat French fries, mac and cheese, and tortilla chips with queso.

Nico's Ice Cream List
Nico Vergara's rapidly growing business Nico's Ice Cream expanded with a second brick-and-mortar location on November 5. Vergara specializes in New Zealand-style "real fruit" ice cream, featuring a vanilla base swirled with fresh fruit, with flavors like marionberry, strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry.

Pastificio d’Oro List
Chase Dopson and Maggie Irwin's handmade pasta pop-up Pastificio d’Oro opened a permanent location in the former Gracie's Apizza List space on November 3. (Gracie's is moving to a new location.) The cozy Piedmontese spot is slinging regional specialties like squash-stuffed tortelli and tagliatelle with ragu, in addition to antipasti, dessert, and wine.

New dining club arrives in Portland
A national members-only dining club called Tasting Collective is set to debut its Portland chapter on November 30. For an annual fee of $165, members gain access to exclusive five-course dinners from local restaurants. Chef Bonnie Morales of Kachka List will host the first dinner in Portland on November 30, followed by chef Cameron Dunlap of Morchella List in January.

Gobble Up Portland 2022 Past Event List
Just in time for Thanksgiving (and the subsequent holidays), Urban Craft Uprising will host this specialty food show for the fourth year, promising over 80 local vendors slinging everything from caramels to small-batch pickles to nut butters.

Post Familiar Wine Release Past Event List
Be among the first to try two new wines from sommelier Brent Braun's winery Post Familiar—a hazy Chardonnay made in collaboration with Cutter Cascadia and a skin contact pinot gris made in collaboration with the Gorge-based winery Loop de Loop. Plus, partake in Cambodian comfort food provided by Sunshine Noodles.

The Portland Cheese & Meat Festival Past Event List

Past Event List Get a leg up on your Christmas shopping with the help of this annual festival attended by thousands of visitors. You'll be able to browse wares such as art, crafts, jewelry, clothing, woodcraft, music, photography, toys, Christmas décor, and more from hundreds of vendors. Plus, browse a large gourmet food area full of free samples of tea, chocolates, pasta, soups, dips, meats, coffee, jams, shortbread, salsas, oils, vinegars, honey, sauces, and other edible delights.

Depressed Cake Shop Past Event List
This one-day pop-up bakery sells gray-colored cakes, cookies, and other goods (all donated by local bakers) to raise awareness and encourage conversation about mental health issues. The goodies, though dismal looking on the outside, are bright and colorful on the inside to symbolize hope. Proceeds benefit Baby Blues Connection, which provides free support for parents and families dealing with perinatal mood disorders.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18

Trap Kitchen Weekend
Past Event List Back in May, celebrity-acclaimed soul food cart Trap Kitchen was opened a restaurant inside the Roseland Theater’s Peter’s Room space on the ground floor, serving up things like pineapple bowls filled with teriyaki steak or seafood, Rich Boy and Rich Girl sandwiches, mac and cheese, fried shrimp and fried chicken. On November 18, the restaurant and venue will launch the inaugural Trap Kitchen Weekend. Despite the event’s name suggesting there’s two days worth of live music, the event only takes place on Friday, but the lineup for the evening is absolutely packed with local rappers: Jay Worthy, G Perico, Saviii 3rd, Cool Nutz, Maniac Lok, Niro Gotti and more. DJs Fatboy and Jerry Bandito will spin the 1s and 2s. Plus! There’ll be a fashion market with booths from local retail brands like Creme & Co, Black Mannequin, Stackin Kickz, and Chocolate Dope. BrewLights Past Event List
Revel in the illuminated wonderland of ZooLights with an exclusively grown-up crowd, and enjoy food truck fare and live music. You'll get to choose from a hundred beer, seltzer, and cider options from 45 Northwest breweries and cideries while you feast your eyes on twinkling trees and glowing 3-D sculptures.

Lardo
In tribute to Aviary List chef and owner Sarah Pliner, who was tragically struck and killed in a bicycle accident on October 4, Lardo's monthly "Chefwich" special is a duck bánh mì, inspired by the one served at Aviary, with crispy duck confit, duck liver mousse, a spicy green papaya salad, and Kewpie mayonnaise. On Instagram, Lardo wrote, "Sarah Pliner was important to us. A force of nature that was taken from us way too soon. She is somewhere rolling her eyes at our attempt at her sandwich, but also secretly smiling that we are trying so hard to make her happy." Proceeds from the sandwich will go to the nonprofit bicycle advocacy organization the Street Trust, which works to help create safe streets for cyclists and pedestrians.

Sugarpine Drive-In List
Warm up with the retro drive-in's curry pulled pork rice bowl, made with pulled pork, sweet chili barbecue sauce, curry aioli, and a slaw (cabbage, green bean, kabocha squash, roasted pineapple, coconut and basil) and served on a bed of mixed grain rice.
