Ice Queen List
The plant-based ice cream shop, which just celebrated the second anniversary of its Hosford-Abernethy location this week, is currently serving up a Halloween menu alongside its usual flavors, with specials like sinister red Rice Krispies treat "brains," the "Nutcraft Screamshake" (chocolate soft serve swirled with peanut butter, chocolate flecks, and crumbled mazapán), and a brat-green matcha pistachio paleta.

Mikiko Mochi Donuts
Mikiko Mochi Donuts owners Emily Mikiko Strocher and Alex McGillivray are going all out for Halloween with a gaggle of ghoulishly fun flavors. The "Ecto Cooler" pays tribute to the slime-colored orange-tangerine Hi-C drink released as a Ghostbusters II tie-in in the '80s (remember that one scene from The Bear where Carmy makes a homemade batch for a children's birthday party and inadvertently tranquilizes a bunch of kids with Xanax?) with a green tangerine and pandan glaze, while the chocolate-glazed "Dirt 'n Worms" recalls the dirt cups of my youth with chocolate pudding, gluten-free crushed Oreo "dirt," and mutilated gummy worms. Other inspired offerings include the "Jack 'O Lantern" (a Thai tea glazed doughnut with black sesame condensed coconut milk drizzle), "Purple People Eater" (an ube glazed doughnut with a candy eyeball), "Personfruit" (a passionfruit glazed doughnut with passionfruit curd, adorned with candy bones and eyeballs), "Horrorchata" (an horchata-glazed doughnut filled with horchata pudding, cinnamon, and matcha puffed rice); "The Slasher" (a vanilla glazed doughnut with raspberry "blood splatter"), and "Witches' Brew" (a "cauldron-hued" sensory delight with black coconut glaze, pandan pudding, and popping lychee "bubbles").

The Pie Spot List
The Pie Spot is employing slasher-worthy special effects for October: In addition to its annual "Chocula S'cream Pie" (which comes with a pair of vampire fangs so customers can snap a selfie with a grotesque grin) and "die crust" cinnamon rolls (activated charcoal dough, cinnamon butter, and a gory red buttermilk glaze), they're debuting "the Curse of the Yummy," a new raspberry chiffon pie with powdered sugar.

Salt & Straw Ice Cream
This year, Salt & Straw's annual hair-raising fall menu, which is available through Halloween, includes such fearsome flavors as "The Great Candycopia" (pieces of house-made Kit Kats, Reese's, Snickers, and Heath bars in a salted butterscotch ice cream), "Creepy Crawly Critters" (matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and chocolate crickets), "Jack-o'-Lantern Pumpkin Bread" (a pumpkin flavor with warm spices, chunks of pumpkin bread, and swirls of cream cheese frosting), "Essence of Ghost" (Scotch-infused sherbet and dark chocolate ice cream), and "Blackberry Tamales" (a vegan flavor with coconut blackberry sherbet, masa curd pudding, and cornbread crumble).

Sugarpine Drive-in List
If you were the type of kid to trade all your Halloween sweets for Snickers, you'll be delighted by Sugarpine's salty-sweet sundae inspired by the iconic candy bar, featuring milk chocolate soft serve, peanut nougat-stuffed double chocolate chip cookie bites (!), miso caramel, dark chocolate magic shell, and candied peanuts. The fall special will stick around until December 22.
