Come out for a night of Prince-inspired songs and covers played by Portland-based musicians. It’s not hard to imagine that if Prince were alive he’d want us all to support hard working musicians with our money, time, and energy. And what better way to celebrate the late icon’s birthday than by sinking into some of the city’s blossoming talents. Vocalist Saeeda Wright headlines the night, which feels borderline perfect—she’s no stranger to tribute shows and actually sang back-up for Prince as a member of his New Power Generation(!). Wright has a reputation locally for her work as a soloist, often performing with the Oregon Symphony.
