Artist Statement
Concepts can have many manifestations. I work in series and define parameters during my artistic experiments in order to create permutations of an idea. Working simultaneously on many pieces in a series allows variations to develop. My visual artwork is like my instrumental compositions; both
are nonobjective, and both are about mystery, beauty, emotion. My visceral response is what is most important in determining when a work is complete. Technique, simplicity, detail, and feeling guide my creative process.
