Black Keys, Modest Mouse, Shannon & the Clams
Recommended
Has the Black Keys’ time passed? As of this writing, there are still hundreds of tickets still available for the alt-rock duo’s performance at the Moda Center. That’s in spite of a fairly great lineup that includes opening sets from sea shanty indie stalwarts Modest Mouse and the whip-smart garage joy of Shannon and the Clams. What gives? Has the bullheaded decision to name their latest album Let’s Rock backfired? Or did that happen because the duo sounds like they want to keep their slippery hold on their audience of soccer moms and dads in cheap pork pie hats with a more smoothed out, music-the-whole-office-can-agree-on sound?
