The following description comes from the event organizer.

Learn basic electrical skills and lamp repair, and build a table lamp to take home! Class will start by taking apart lamps provided in class to learn how all the pieces fit together. Next, students can choose from our selection of reclaimed wood and electrical parts to create their own lamp.

Students will be given basic bulbs to take home as part of their lamp, but decorative or specialty bulbs (like the one in the picture below) are BYOB: Bring Your Own Bulb.

Topics covered:
The basics of electrical theory
Safety when working with electricity
Using wire stripping tools effectively
The parts and techniques necessary to rewire and repair a lamp
Inspiration for how to create lamps out of other types of materials

Skill level: This class is ideal for beginners ages 18 and over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission.
Class Schedule: Class will run for 3 hours and no breaks are planned
