The following description comes from the event organizer.

Open Space presents a mixed bill dance collaboration, ever change. Open Space's Artistic Director, Franco Nieto, will be premiering his duet, Upstairs Neighbor, where a daydream fantasy turns to obsession and unexpected consequences. What happens when sleepless nights foster a sense of paranoia and feeling trapped in your own home?

Noelle Kayser, a Chicago-based choreographer, has been working on The Linemen Wright with Open Space since the fall of 2023. This ensemble piece will make its world premiere at ever change. Kayser’s work often delves into personal and collective histories, exploring the nuanced layers of the shared existence. Based on a lucid dream, TLW weaves together elements of fantasy and fable to expand the boundaries of storytelling. In this highly collaborative work, and drawing from her contemporary training with a ballet foundation, Kayser was particularly inspired by the play between highly specific gestures and the complete abandonment of form.

Open Space will perform Squeezing Honey from a Stone, by Canadian New York-based choreographer, Elijah Labay. Labay describes his work as "a reflection of self and how we present ourselves to the world....we explore the dichotomy of a hard exterior to protect ourselves and forms of inner softness, which we reserve for our relationships or self love." Premiered as an excerpt in May of this year, audiences will see the full iteration of Labay’s work in Open Space’s more intimate space, in the round. Franco Nieto will be performing alongside his company members.
