In Post-Socialist Landscapes, photographer Matthew Moore explores the sites of former Soviet occupation, cultivating an ominous quality in his works that spotlights cultural memories that have stood the test of time. While some photographs portray an eerie absence, others depict the ways in which local governments have transformed formerly occupied spaces. Moore's photographs also share the fates of discarded Eastern Bloc communist monuments, many of which are hidden away from public view.
