The following description comes from the event organizer.
Portland, Oregon's twisted spazz-rock and roll quartet, Nasalrod, is now performing its frantic act in support of their upcoming split 12" record with Bay Area legends Victims Family. The next Nasalrod performance will be on Saturday, November 26th at the new Portland venue Lollipop Shoppe. Local friends Gaytheist will be co-headlining with them on the bill, and DJ Mottavader will be spinning tunes throughout the night. The show is $10 at the door, with doors at 8:30pm. This show will also serve as a 'kick-off' for Nasalrod's 3 high profile Bay Area shows with Victims Family in early December (in Petaluma, SF and Sacramento). The band will also be supporting the legendary L.A. punk band FEAR on New Year's Eve at Bossanova Ballroom in Portland as well. As a result, Nasalrod's drummer will be on double duty on NYE (as he is also the drummer for FEAR).Named after the bone in Screamin’ Jay’s nose, Nasalrod shares his flair for frenetic, theatrical performances and powerful vocals. Their album Building Machines is a fun and furious blast of genre-busting punk derangement, full of on-a-dime rhythm changes, heavy riffs and shape shifting melodies that capture the live intensity the band is known for.
“Landing between the prog funk of Mr. Bungle and the spastic post-punk of Brainiac, the finest moments on Machines offer a glimpse at what might happen if the Blood Brothers kidnapped Mike Patton and joined the circus.” -Pete Cottell, The Willamette Week
“If you like your musicianship uncanny and your style adventurous, Building Machines will have you perplexed and loving it.” -Aris Hunter Wales, Portland Mercury
“.. easily one of the most formidable aural attacks in the city.” -Ryan J. Prado, Portland Mercury
