Stanley Donen's other huge '50s musical, swapping out Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly for Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn, with music from the Gershwins. This movie, only barely based on the Broadway show, is kinda-sorta-maybe-not-really based on the life of photographer Richard Avedon, but is mostly, unapologetically about itself, showing off the indulgent extravagance Hollywood used to lavish on their musicals.
