The Driller Killer
Usually, the spectre of "cult" moviegoing lends itself to a goofy, fun-loving atmosphere, where fans gather together and power through a familiar favorite fueled by sugar and warm nostalgia. But Wyrd War has decided cult film celebration needs to be a little bit raw again, revisiting the irresponsible nastiness of Abel Ferrara’s 1979 directorial debut The Driller Killer, about a starving artist who is so scared of becoming homeless he becomes a mass murderer whose weapon of choice is a fucking power drill. Good night and good luck ever sleeping again.
