The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie

The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie is surrealism as shaggy-dog story, but not quite surrealism lite. Like Mark Twain—another funny guy—Luis Buñuel's humor, even at its gentlest, still bites. If you enjoy laughing at yourself (ah yes, my friend, you too are bourgeois), you won't find a better classic than this film.
