"Nectar Lounge launched Nectar Virtual Concert Series on Saturday, March 21st as a way to keep Seattle's live music scene alive during COVID-19 lockdown, to help keep artists connected with fans and continue to provide much needed entertainment and distraction to Seattleites (and beyond). NVCS was established as a fundraiser to support the artists, Nectar out-of-work-staff, and venue operations while public gatherings and nightlife are not safe. Fortunately, Gov. Jay Inslee's "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" proclamation specifically identified "artists and musicians providing services through streaming or other technology" as part of Washington's "essential workforce" and in that spirit of providing a valuable community service, NVCS continues to produce concerts every week recorded and live streamed from Nectar's stage with the implementation of various ground rules that promote social distancing, health and safety. Offering a strange brew of live music, Nectar tends toward reggae, hiphop, bluegrass, and EDM, in a nicely airy space, including a patio and multiple levels indoors.
