Note: Vessel has reopened in a new location. Vessel is a cutting-edge lounge in an otherwise dead-at-night section of downtown (save for the nearby 5th Avenue Theater). The bar is sleek and stylish very nearly to a fault (tiny tables, servers all in black) and very serious about cocktail culture: This may have been the first place in town where each drink on the menu bore a date, a place of origin, and a composer. The drinks are expensive and worth it, and high-brow nibbles are served all night.
