It's April Fool's Day, but we're not joking when we say the events we've rounded up here are affordable and easy to slot into your weekend. The only foolish thing would be missing out on events like the PIR Auto Swap Meet, Portland Flea, and WasabiCon's Geek Marketplace. For more ideas, check out our guide to the top events of the week

Leave Your Troubles at The Door Past Event List
This interactive comedy show wants to help you feel better about your daily struggles. Audience members will be asked to write down their woes on slips of paper before the performance. Comedians will then draw them from a box, using the audience's problems and troubles to create lighthearted jokes. This edition of the recurring show features comics Kyle Adams, Ikes, Imani Denae, Cameron Peloso, Sam Whitely, and Tory Ward.

The Return of 7 on 7
Past Event List In this quick-and-dirty improv show, up to seven comedians are given seven minutes to perform sets that will inspire further jokes from a cast of improvisers. LoveJoy Improv will perform alongside standups Lucky Mincer, Bryan Bixby, Thomas Lundy, and Drew Wilson-McGrath for this collaborative comedy event.

The Shivas + Forty Feet Tall
Past Event List Recording for respected labels such as K and Burger, Portland's The Shivas write easy-rolling, reverb-laden rock tunes that adhere to traditional psych- and garage-rock moves with the devotion of an Ugly Things magazine writer. True, there's no innovation going on in a Shivas song, but the compositional panache is so strong and the instrumentation so tantalizing that the music's familiarity leads to "yeahs" not yawns. Shiva is the Hindu deity of destruction, but the Shivas are more apt to pacify you than prod you into a violent rampage. DAVE SEGAL

The first annual Festival of the Migrating Crows Past Event List welcomes the return of everyone's favorite corvid. Often maligned but undeniably clever, these tricky creatures have made waves in mythology and folklore throughout human history. As part of the festival, this celebration (crowlebration? I tried) will include an art show, live music, performances, and a "crow riddle walk." Attendees are encouraged to dress like a crow, because why not?

Trillium Festival
Past Event List The 42nd Annual Trillium Festival is returning after a two-year hiatus. Here, you'll learn about this perennial, which is native to our local forests—the flower blooms white in color in late February/early March and gradually turns reddish-purple by the end of April/early May. The event also features guided and self-led hikes, educational stations on forest habitats, a plant sale with Bosky Dell Natives, and a variety of information displays on watersheds, homeowner wildfire prevention, and living botanical tabletop gardens.
