Banh Mi Up List debuted this new sibling restaurant on September 8, serving up craveable dishes like pork belly bites, ube waffles with chicken katsu, and Vietnamese-style sizzling beef with eggs.

Chill N Fill List
This North Portland taproom will host the grand opening of its new food cart pod starting at noon tomorrow. Look forward to a lineup of eight carts, including King Philly Cheesesteak, Los Borrachos, Piccone's Quality Deli, Abbas, Eny's Table, and Bodacious Beans. Better yet, the opening coincides with Chill N Fill's fresh hop festival, so you'll have plenty of options to pair with your food. Local acts the Lemony Anemones, Barbara Ann Gaidosh, and the Unlikely Renegades will provide music.

Coq Au Vin List
Calling all carnivores: Sea Breeze Farm's "Magic Meat Truck" (a roving artisan butcher) has found a permanent home in a former bagel shop, and owners Rose Allred and George Page have added a new French country-inspired restaurant called Coq Au Vin in the space, with meaty luxuries like baguette sandwiches, charcuterie, cassoulet, pasta bolognese, and of course, the titular coq au vin.

This cozy cocktail lounge with splashes of Art Deco-inspired decor opened in the former space of The Sudra List in downtown Beaverton on September 2. Sip draft libations and snack on vegan bites like masala fries and kale pakoras.

The wildly popular dumpling chain revealed this week that it will open its first Portland location in the Pioneer Place mall on September 28.

Icarus List
The Sesame Collective restaurant group (the team that brought you places like Mediterranean Exploration Company List and Shalom Y’all List ) aims to push the envelope of cocktail-making with this upcoming bar, which is set to open downtown on October 19. Expect a "Rise" menu of mild-mannered classic drinks alongside a "Fall" menu of bold beverages like pizza-spiced micheladas and piña coladas with grilled pineapple popping boba.

Reo's Ribs List
Bridgetown Bites reports that the beloved barbecue joint Reo's Ribs, which was previously beset by multiple fires, plans to reopen its Hollywood District location sometime this month. Owner Reo Varnado (also known as the rap legend Snoop Dogg's uncle) died in January 2022.

This quirky coffee shop housed in a Victorian home, which was rumored to be haunted by a ghost named Aunt Lydia, announced this week that it will be closing soon. The historic building is up for sale for $1.5 million dollars.

Shine Distillery, known for its innovative drive-thru drag show during lockdown, closed down its restaurant last month. The business will continue to produce spirits for distribution at liquor stores and local bars.

The people who brought you the Portland Night Market have turned their eyes towards the very serious business of snacking, and Snack Fest is the result: a weekend's worth of local vendors dedicating their time and energy to sharing bite-sized deliciousness in a wide variety of forms and flavors. This year, you can look forward to an "urban asado" party with Tournant, a fried chicken throwdown curated by Gary the Foodie, a kaiseki tasting menu from acclaimed Los Angeles chef Nan Yimcharoen, and other festivities.

Portland Polish Festival Past Event List
Expect polka and pierogies this weekend at the longest-running Polish festival in the US, right here in Overlook! Learn about Polish history, grab plates of traditional cuisine, and wash it all down with Polish beers. Grand Opening Party Past Event List
The drinking destination of the summer is here: Mariah and Thomas Pisha-Duffly, the dynamic duo who brought you Gado Gado and Oma's Hideaway, opened the Houston Blacklight, a cheeky vintage-inspired bar with "a mashup of Atomic Era fantasy and rough-edged elegance," in the former Night Light Lounge space on at the end of July, serving inspired menu items like French onion instant ramen, shrimp cocktail with sambal terasi, and Jell-O shot bundt cakes (!). Help them celebrate their official grand opening with DJ tunes, dancing, drink specials, fabulous drag performances, and even an ice luge.

Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest Past Event List
Just can't get enough fresh hops? This 17-day-long pop-up hop extravaganza will showcase the hyper-seasonal specialty in all its glory with special tappings every day from "some of the best and brightest breweries and regions." The programming includes a kickoff party on September 15, brews from industry innovators Indie Hops on September 16, freshies from Breakside on September 18, "Freshtoberfest" from September 22-24, and a spotlight on hops from Yakima (the hop capital of the world!) on September 28, among lots of other events. Scoop up some nosh from the Prost! Marketplace's 10 resident food trucks while you're at it.
