Thirty-Six Years on Capitol Hill: A Conversation with Congressman Peter DeFazio
The following description comes from the event organizer.
When Peter DeFazio retires from the U.S. House of Representatives in January 2023, he will do so as the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives in Oregon history. First elected in 1986 to represent Oregon’s 4th Congressional District, DeFazio is now serving his eighteenth term. For the past three years, DeFazio has served as Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, which has jurisdiction over the nation’s highways, public transit, rail systems, airports, pipelines, and seaports.
OHS Boyle Family Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk and Willamette Week Editor Mark Zusman will interview DeFazio about his congressional career and his opinions on the national leaders with whom he has worked.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test will be required to attend the program.
