This week, the Eugene-based ice cream maker Cosmic Bliss debuts its Pearl District scoop shop, two new breweries arrive, and the sushi favorite Fish and Rice makes a triumphant return. 13 Coins Coffee House List
Seattle's famed 24-hour dining den 13 Coins, known for its swanky black booths and high-backed leather chairs, expanded to the Vancouver waterfront on November 17. The new "coffeehouse" outpost is located inside Hotel Indigo and features coffee from Seattle-based Caffe D'arte Coffee Roasters.

Cosmic Bliss Scoop Shop List
The Eugene-based ice cream brand Cosmic Bliss (formerly Coconut Bliss) debuted Past Event List its new flagship scoop shop in the Pearl District on Thursday. The location serves up both grass-fed and plant-based ice cream, with flavors such as peanut butter blitz, twisted cookie dough, strawberry lemon shortbread, sea salt caramel chocolate, and sweet cherry amaretto, plus shakes, cookie sandwiches, ice cream bars, and other treats.

Fish and Rice List
Rejoice: The counter-serve sushi joint Fish and Rice, which has been beset by break-ins and other hardships and announced its subsequent closure on November 1, reopened on December 1 due to the outpouring of support it received from fans. An Instagram post states, "Your cries of despair have been heard & we’re gonna grant y’all this one holiday miracle. So plz stop banging on our glass, it scares the fish."

Gigantic Hawthorne Pub List
The comic book-inspired brewery Gigantic Brewing launched its all-ages Hawthorne pub toward the end of November. The new spot serves a hearty European-inspired menu, with dishes like Danish pork sandwiches and loaded tots.

Milk Money List
Pastry chef Jess da Silva recently unveiled this new small-batch bakery in the former Cafe Reina space, serving baked goods like macarons, ham and Gruyere croissants, and wildflower honey sea salt pie (with honey she harvests herself from her own beehives!).

Exciting news for the new year: Magna Kusina List chef Carlo Lamagna plans to open a new restaurant called Magna Kubo, inspired by the lechonerías of the Phillipines, on Southwest Broadway Street in Beaverton in March 2023.

And something else to look forward to: Star bartenders Jeffrey Morgenthaler and Benjamin Amberg, best known for their tenures at the influential Clyde Common List , will open a second location of their new-ish bar Pacific Standard List in Salem in February.

Kenny & Zuke's List
The downtown Jewish delicatessen Kenny & Zuke's will shutter its Ace Hotel location after its final service on December 18. However, all is not lost: the business plans to reopen in a smaller location in North Portland on New Year's Day.

Rogue Creamery blue cheese served at the White House
Oregon food enjoyed a moment in the spotlight last week, as Rogue Creamery List 's award-winning Rogue River Blue cheese was served for a meal at the White House with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte. Sales for the local cheese have skyrocketed as a result of the publicity.

Miracle at Deadshot  Past Event List
In 2014, New York bar owner Greg Boehm temporarily transformed his space into a kitschy Christmas wonderland replete with gewgaws and tchotchkes galore. The pop-up phenomenon has expanded to more than 100 locations all over the world, including Portland's stylish cocktail bar Deadshot. Specialty cocktails are are housed in tacky-tastic vessels and christened with names like the “Bad Santa,” the “Yippie Ki Yay Mother F**r,” and the “Jolly Koala.” At Deadshot, the Filipino pop-up Sunrice will provide a food menu to boot.

2022 Gingerbread Masterpiece Past Event List
The Benson Hotel invites you to gawk at an elaborate gingerbread facsimile of Multnomah Falls, which was created by gingerbread architect and pastry chef David Diffendorfer using over 150 pounds of homemade gingerbread, 50 pounds of marzipan, 20 pounds of chocolate, 10 pounds of Rice Krispies Treats, and buckets upon buckets of royal icing. While you're there, learn more about the hotel's founder and namesake Simon Benson with a "mini-museum" featuring over 160 photos and stories of Portland and its historic landmark buildings.

Sleigh Love 2022: A Holiday Takeover Past Event List
Sleigh the day with a menu of holiday-inspired drinks and other treats at the cocktail bar and restaurant Hey Love. Sugarpine Drive-In List
This week, the nostalgic drive-in added a new plant-based sundae dubbed "Whoop, There It Is" to their menu. The vegan treat features toasted sesame-oat and dark chocolate soft serve, halva cream, chocolate chip kabocha whoopie pie bites, chocolate magic shell, and candied sesame and pumpkin seed brittle, and will be available through December.
