This week, we're lusting over Italian sweets and sandwiches at the gorgeous new bakery Flour Bloom and getting hyped for the exciting new Vietnamese spots The Paper Bridge and Annam VL. Annam VL List
In need of some comfort food to fortify you against the cold? The family behind the beloved Vietnamese institutions Hà VL List  and Rose VL List opened a third spot on Belmont on November 4, serving daily rotating specials such as bún riêu (vermicelli noodles in pork broth), bún bò Huế (rice noodles in spicy lemongrass beef broth), and hủ tiếu mỹ tho (rice noodles in a pork and dried seafood broth).

Collector Bar List
The design studio Old Friend, which also owns the bar Company List , debuted this artsy bar serving cocktails, beer, natural wine, and non-alcoholic beverages on November 10.

Flour Bloom List
This new plant-filled bakery, launched by baker Bree Licata on Wednesday, offers Italian-American treats like rainbow cookies and cannoli with a side of '70s disco glitz. Other offerings include bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, Italian sandwiches, and sparkly lattes made with edible glitter.

The Paper Bridge List
Chefs Quynh Nguyen and Carlo Reinardy opened this northern-style Vietnamese restaurant, named for the Cầu Giấy district of Hanoi, in the former La Luna Cafe location on November 9. Their menu looks promising, featuring dishes like mushroom-stuffed tofu, duck leg pho, and water buffalo jerky.

FUTURE OPENINGS

Fried Egg I'm in Love List
The punny breakfast sandwich purveyor is set to open a new full-service restaurant on the corner of Fremont and North Mississippi in January. The space will feature an expanded menu, a bigger kitchen, a takeout window, a bar, and a turntable playing a steady flow of vinyl.

The smash burger cart announced on Instagram on Wednesday that its Cartside location has officially closed.

Stacked Sandwich Shop List
Top Chef alum Gabriel Pascuzzi's sandwich shop, which reopened in Slabtown earlier this year, plans to close for a second time. The spot will shutter to make way for a new concept called Tip Top Burger Shop. The timeline for the closure and new opening has not yet been announced.

23rd Avenue Bottle Shop Celebrates 8 Years Past Event List
McMenamins' 23rd Avenue Bottle Shop will celebrate being in business for the better part of a decade with the release of their new blondie-inspired Birthday Reserve No. 8, a blonde stout barrel-aged in a Hogshead Whiskey barrel with rum-soaked vanilla beans. You can snag a taster tray with the new release, last year's Birthday Reserve, and a mini blondie bar for $10. Plus, participate in a "discovery hunt" and get 20% off all Bottle Shop logo merchandise.

Fondue Night Past Event List
What is cold weather for if not dunking bread into warm, oozy ribbons of cheese? The coffee shop Bastion will serve fondue for one night, complemented by wine. If you can handle additional dairy, save some room for soft serve for dessert (you might want to pack a Lactaid). Tables are first come, first served, but worry not: if you don't snag one, plenty of fondue, ice cream, and wine will be available to-go for a moveable feast.

Portland Artisan Holiday Market Past Event List
Not sure what to get your food-obsessed friend who worships Sohla El-Waylly, throws the best dinner parties, and always has a sourdough starter going? Look no further than STEELPORT's Holiday Market, which will feature signed cookbooks from local chefs courtesy of Powell's, as well as dumplings from Kachka, cookware from FINEX, hot sauce from Marshall's Haute Sauce (which was featured on this season of the hit YouTube series Hot Ones), coffee from Coava and Deadstock, items from Ken's Artisan Bakery, and much more. Veganizer: World Vegan Month 2023 Past Event List
In celebration of World Vegan Month, Veganizer PDX is collaborating with over 20 plant-based restaurants and food carts across the city to offer exclusive food and drink specials. A portion of sales from each business's special will be donated to their selected nonprofit. Some of our favorite spots in town are getting in on the philanthropic fun: Speed-o Cappuccino is raising funds for the PDX Sex Worker Resource Project, Ice Queen is contributing to Native American Youth and Family Center, Mis Tacones will donate to Meals On Us...the list goes on. It's a great chance to contribute to some magnanimous causes while partaking in some magnificent meatless meals.

The vegan ice cream shop is skipping past Thanksgiving and getting in the Christmas spirit with a trio of new seasonal flavors: Santa's Cookies (a flavor with sugar cookies, snickerdoodle, gingerbread, and red and green sprinkles), Peppermint Patty Crunch (a fan favorite with house-made peppermint patties and cacao nibs in a chocolate base), and Eggnog (vanilla ice cream with nutmeg and cinnamon).

The Mocking Bird List
This vegan fried chicken cart is putting its own plant-based spin on the KFC famous bowl. Theirs comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, Chick'n nuggets, green onions, and a sprinkle of non-dairy cheese.

Pacific Standard
Get ready: Star bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler is a known eggnog aficionado, and his famed tequila-sherry version of the holiday beverage is set to hit the menu at the Kerns location of Pacific Standard on Sunday, November 19 and the Salem location on Monday, November 20.
