Portland pizza is enjoying a moment in the limelight this week, as Lovely's Fifty Fifty pizzaiola Sarah Minnick appears on Netflix's Chef's Table and Ken's Artisan Pizza is named the 57th best pizzeria in the world. Plus, Jojo prepares to open its long-awaited brick-and-mortar, My Brother's Crawfish opens a to-go spot in Rose City Park, and Bumper Burger expands to Hillsboro. The local burger joint recently debuted a new location in Hillsboro, serving the same menu of burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches, gyros, hot dogs, fries, shakes, and soda.

Jojo Add to a List  
Rejoice: The fried chicken cart known for its crispy poultry and cheeky social media presence is set to open its highly anticipated brick-and-mortar restaurant in the former space of Daily Cafe Add to a List next Friday, September 15. Owner Justin Hintze will bring his popular menu of over-the-top comfort food like double-fried jojos and smothered fried chicken sandwiches to the glam '70s-inspired digs, along with new vegan versions of every sandwich on the menu. Eem Add to a List bartender Ashelee Wells will sling a "smashable" drink menu with milkshakes, slushies, and cocktails, while pastry chef Christina Hoover will serve cheesecakes, cookies, and rotating plated desserts.

This Utah-based chain specializing in Hawaiian plate lunches, poké, and ice cream launched its first location in Vancouver on August 29.

MBC TOGO Add to a List
Ever found yourself wishing that seafood boils were just a little more...portable? Then you're in luck: The Cajun mainstay My Brother's Crawfish Add to a List opened a to-go spot in Rose City Park toward the end of August. The menu features appetizers, customizable seafood boils, gumbo, crawfish etouffée, fried seafood, po' boy sandwiches, and more.

Sarah Minnick appears on Chef's Table: Pizza
Esteemed Lovely's Fifty Fifty Add to a List chef Sarah Minnick is featured in an episode of Netflix's Chef's Table spinoff highlighting pizza chefs from around the world, which premiered on Wednesday. Minnick is the first Oregon-based chef to be featured in the series. 

Ken's Artisan Pizza named one of the world's 100 best pizzerias
It's a big week for Portland pizza: Ken's Artisan Pizza Add to a List , the illustrious pizzeria founded by baker Ken Forkish, was declared the "57th best" pizzeria in the world at the annual 50 Top Pizza award ceremony in Napoli on Wednesday. The Naples restaurant I Masanielli and the New York-based Una Pizza Napoletana shared the top spot on the list.

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates purchases Rex Hill
The Washington-based winery Ste. Michelle Wine Estates revealed on Wednesday that it has purchased the Oregon winery A to Z Wineworks, along with its subsidiary REX HILL Add to a List . Ste. Michelle is the largest winery in the Pacific Northwest and was taken over by the private equity firm Sycamore Partners in July 2021.

Johnstoberfest 2022 Add to a List
The local craft beer and wine mecca John's Marketplace will celebrate Oktoberfest at both of its locations with a mix of "international classics and local festbiers," plus live music. Entry is free, and $30 ($35 at the door) gets you a custom glass and six drink tickets.

Polka the evening away at this Oktoberfest bash, featuring live music from the honky-tonk group Mawlee Jones Band and indie rockers Falcon Heart, plus 24 German-style craft beers and ciders. Once you've worked up an appetite from dancing, enjoy some freshly grilled brats and warm pretzels.

In celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival, Yoonique Tea will unveil its lineup of fall drinks, while HeyDay will sling its signature chewy-crisp rice flour doughnuts in enticing flavors like ube marshmallow, coconut sweet corn, black sesame sugar, and lychee jasmine. It'll be your last chance to catch HeyDay before they open their new shop inside the CORE pod, and if you're lucky, you might even be able to snag some mini snow skin mooncakes (which are are covered in a glutinous rice crust and must be kept frozen, not unlike mochi ice cream).

Portland Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Add to a List
The community-focused nonprofit White Lotus Foundation is hosting this free Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, complete with live entertainment, games for kids, raffles, giveaways, paper lanterns, a lighting parade, lion dances, stage performances, and a plethora of local AANHPI-owned businesses, including Khao Niew Lao Street Food, 100 Chopsticks, Ichiza Kitchen, AZN Drip, Thip Khao, Yoonique Tea, HeyDay, Kookido Mochi Cookies, and more. Of course, you'll also be able to purchase handmade mooncakes, provided by Elvin Bakery and available in flavors like lotus seed paste, red bean, and mixed nut with ham.

Topaz Farm's resident "farm-to-plate" chefs Christian and Janelle Ephrem will craft three multi-course, farm-to-plate dinners this summer, each featuring five specially selected beer pairings from a different local brewer: Fort George Brewing, Migration Brewing, and Foreland Beer. Guests will get to dine al fresco below the farm's historic oak tree (or under a tent, depending on weather).

Plus there's other attractions, including wiener dog races, a car show, races, dancing, live music, and much more.

This food and drink festival will feature a roster of big-name chefs, including Travel Channel star Andrew Zimmern and famed Food Network chef Rocco DiSpirito, as well as Maneet Chauhan, Antonia Lofaso, Kardea Brown, Lamar Moore, Christian Petroni, Aaron May, Tracey Bloom, Tregaye Fraser, Monti Carlo, Deanna Colon, Chris Scott, and Tyler Anderson. The lineup of events includes a wine pairing dinner with Michael Jordan’s Steak House, a celebrity chef "dine-around," a grand tasting, a "Vintage Elite Cru," a bourbon and cigar tasting, and a bloody Mary and bubbles brunch.
