Saxophonist Joe Manis will honor John Coltrane’s birthday (also the birthday of saxophonists Frank Foster, Ray Charles, and George Garzone!) with Eric Gruber, bass and Charlie Doggett, drums. Coltrane is easily one of the most influential saxophonists — as well as one of the most influential musicians — of all time. The trio will celebrate by playing selections from throughout the span of Coltrane’s extraordinary and all-too-brief career.
