The following description comes from the event organizer.

Annie Bloom's Books welcomes Portland poet for a reading from his new collection, As the Sky Begins to Change. Kim will be joined by Alaska poets Wendy Erd and Peter Kaufmann, whose new collections are published by Portland press The Poetry Box. In As the Sky Begins to Change, Stafford gathers poems that sing with empathy, humor, witness, and story. The poems in Wendy Erd's It's a Crooked Road, but Not Far, to the House of Flowers crisscross the Pacific: from an elegy for a forest in Alaska to a magical wish for those living on the streets of Saigon. Peter Kaufmann's The Round Whisper of No Moon weaves imagery and story gathered over twenty years of migrating between the wilds of Alaska and densely populated cities in Southeast Asia.
