Artist Lynda Ater, who was recently diagnosed with a rare brain cancer, faces the end of her life with grace and courage in this retrospective. As a laboratory scientist, Ater analyzed cancer cells, later transforming the images of cells into dynamic paintings inspired by Josef Albers. Throughout her artistic career, Ater's works have merged scientific inquiry and a geometric, patterned aesthetic sense—these works come together in this distinctive exhibition.
