Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar has announced his tour with rising rappers Baby Keem (AKA his cousin) and Tanna Leone, just after the release of his long-awaited fifth album. R&B-pop gem Kehlani will support their new album, Blue Water Road, with an extensive North American tour. Virtual Britpop/hip-hop group Gorillaz will bring their animated and IRL selves to the Moda Center this fall. Plus, country superstar Carrie Underwood will stop by on her bedazzled Denim & Rhinestones tour. Read on for details on those and other newly announced events, plus some news you can use.

Pickathon has updated their lineup with additions including legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper GZA and indie rock duo Wet Leg.

The first week of
Rent shows at Portland Center Stage have been canceled due to a COVID outbreak. The production will now run from June 1 to July 10. 

Portland Opera has announced its 2022/23 season, starting off with Georges Bizet’s classic production
Carmen. The season will continue with Thumbprint, which shares the story of a Pakistani human rights activist, followed by Antonín Dvořák’s lyrical fairy tale Rusalka and wrapping with a one-night concert in celebration of opera composer Terence Blanchard.

Oregon Humanities’ yearly
Dear Stranger letter campaign has begun, inviting Oregonians to submit a letter to a stranger and receive one in return. Over 1,000 people have exchanged letters through the project since its start in 2014. That’s a lot of letters!

Portland Parks & Recreation has built an
expansive playground with an emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity. The revamped play area, located within Gabriel Park in SW Portland’s Multnomah neighborhood incorporates accessible routes to play equipment, interactive sensory panels, and other features that allow more open, collaborative play.
