The following description comes from the event organizer.

Learn the trending art of paper quilling from talented mixed-media artist Amaranta Sandys.

Amaranta is a talented mixed-media artist whose work is showcased in our Hillman City cafe, in partnership with LoCA. She will be spending the evening teaching us how to paper quill, a trending new art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Tickets include all the materials needed to make your own paper quill work of art, and you will learn her techniques for the different paper beads, rolls and curls.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Amaranta has been teaching and creating original art for over 20 years. Much of her artwork reflects duality, nature cycles, whimsical creatures, goddess and guardians. She says, "the influence of bright colors of my Mexican heritage blend with the beauty of nature from the PNW."
