The following description comes from the event organizer.

We're pleased to announce that we are opening exhibitions next month for two of our most beloved artists: Curtis Steiner and April Surgent. The artists - each distinguished by their exceptional attention to detail and flawless craftsmanship - have been working in their studios for over a year to create these two extraordinary new bodies of work.

In Gathering, Steiner expands his exploration of movement, light, and line, which he debuted in his sell-out debut solo exhibition in September 2022. These intensely precise, sensual, free-hand watercolor paintings, some more than 50" wide, are individually paired with antique wood and gilded frames, which Steiner hand-collected specifically for this exhibit. The resulting objects are mysterious, compelling, and irresistibly beautiful.

Surgent's Future Unfolding debuts a series of large-scale cameo-engraved glass panels that depict liminal moments in nature: fog clinging to treetops at dawn, light caught between storm clouds on the horizon, and coastal wind before a change in weather are a few examples of the nostalgic beauty that April so uniquely captures in her work. As always, Surgent's rendering of nuanced landscapes through her intensive engraving process is breathtaking.

Please join us for the opening reception of these exhibitions on April 4th from 5-8 pm. Both shows will be on view through April 27th. Gallery Hours: Tue-Fri 10-6pm, Sat 10-5pm or by appointment.
